Ha desarrollado una intensa trayectoria investigadora, as\u00ed como promovido y facilitado la transferencia del conocimiento y la tecnolog\u00eda mediante el desarrollo proyectos de colaboraci\u00f3n p\u00fablico\u2013privada en el \u00e1mbito de la ingenier\u00eda offshore en general y la energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica en particular.  Su actividad investigadora combina investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica y aplicada. Con m\u00e1s de 92 publicaciones, de las cuales +40 son en revistas Q1, ha dirigido y\/o participado en +10 proyectos europeos, as\u00ed como en +20 proyectos nacionales tipo RETOS o INNPACTO. Tambi\u00e9n ha participado y\/o dirigido m\u00e1s de 40 proyectos de transferencia tecnol\u00f3gica con empresas y administraciones nacionales e internacionales. Actualmente es co-autor de 10 patentes en dispositivos vinculados a la energ\u00eda undimotriz, e\u00f3lica offshore, acuicultura offshore y tiene pendiente la publicaci\u00f3n de una d\u00e9cima relacionada con nuevas t\u00e9cnicas de laboratorio para la simulaci\u00f3n de cargas aerodin\u00e1micas en turbina flotantes. La gran mayor\u00eda de sus patentes est\u00e1n licenciadas y transferidas a la industria.\n\nFruto de esta actividad, ha alcanzado un alto nivel de especializaci\u00f3n en el desarrollo de herramientas y metodolog\u00edas especializadas para el estudio de la interacci\u00f3n fluido-estructura y en particular en el an\u00e1lisis de la respuesta din\u00e1mica de estructuras e\u00f3licas offshore. Su investigaci\u00f3n se caracteriza por una gran capacidad para la integraci\u00f3n multidisciplinar del conocimiento.
